1. About Quoteboiler
1.1 Quoteboiler (quoteboiler.com) is an online comparison marketplace operated by Quoteboiler LTD, registered in England and Wales (Company No. [XXXXXXXX]), registered address: [Address].
1.2 We connect homeowners with Gas Safe registered engineers for boiler installation, replacement, and repair. We are an introduction service only — we are not a gas engineer, heating company, or contractor.
1.3 Quoteboiler does not carry out, supervise, or take responsibility for any work carried out. All contracts for work are entered into directly between you and the engineer you choose.
2. The Service
2.1 The Quoteboiler platform is free to use for homeowners.
2.2 We will use your details to match you with suitable Gas Safe registered engineers in your area. Engineers will then provide you with quotes for the work you have described.
2.3 We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or competitiveness of any quote provided by an engineer.
2.4 You are under no obligation to accept any quote submitted through the platform.
3. Your Responsibilities
3.1 You confirm that the property is yours or that you have the authority to arrange work at the property.
3.2 You agree to provide accurate and complete information about your boiler, property, and requirements. Inaccurate information may affect the accuracy of quotes received.
3.3 You agree not to contact engineers found through Quoteboiler outside the platform for the purpose of completing the same or similar job without using the Quoteboiler platform.
4. Our Role as a Marketplace
4.1 Quoteboiler is not a party to any contract between you and an engineer.
4.2 Any dispute regarding the quality, pricing, or completion of work is a matter between you and the engineer directly.
4.3 Introduction Service Only. Quoteboiler operates as an online introduction service connecting homeowners with Gas Safe registered engineers. While we request and review Gas Safe registration documentation from all engineers listed on our platform, we do not independently verify credentials with the Gas Safe Register in real time and cannot guarantee that an engineer's registration remains current at the time of any work being carried out. Homeowners are strongly advised to independently verify a contractor's Gas Safe registration at gassaferegister.co.uk before authorising any gas work.
4.4 We are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or consequential loss arising from work carried out by an engineer found through our platform.
5. Reviews and Ratings
5.1 You may be asked to leave a review after a job is completed. Reviews must be honest, fair, and based on your genuine experience of the engineer's work.
5.2 Quoteboiler reserves the right to remove reviews that are defamatory, fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise in breach of these terms.
5.3 You must not post reviews on behalf of someone else or in exchange for any form of payment or reward.
6. Your Data and Privacy
6.1 We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
6.2 Your contact details will be shared with matched Gas Safe engineers for the purpose of providing you with quotes.
6.3 You have the right to request deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@quoteboiler.com.
7. Complaints
7.1 If you have a complaint about our service, please contact us at hello@quoteboiler.com. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
7.2 If your complaint relates to the work carried out by an engineer, you should contact the engineer directly in the first instance.
7.3 If the engineer is unresponsive or you have serious concerns about gas safety, contact the Gas Safe Register directly at gassaferegister.co.uk or call 0800 408 5577.
7.4 For independent consumer advice, Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) can help you understand your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Quoteboiler's liability to you in connection with the use of this platform is limited to the direct losses caused by our own negligence.
8.2 We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses arising from your use of the platform.
8.3 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
9. Changes to These Terms
9.1 We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice on the website. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
10. Cancellation and Withdrawal of Quote Requests
10.1 Withdrawing a quote request. You may withdraw a quote request at any time before you have accepted an engineer's quote by contacting us at hello@quoteboiler.com. Quoteboiler will notify any engineers who have expressed interest and no further action will be taken on your behalf.
10.2 Your statutory right to cancel. Where you accept a quote and a contract for services is formed at a distance (online, without meeting the engineer in person), you may have a right to cancel that contract within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. This right applies to the contract with the engineer, not to Quoteboiler's introduction service. You should request the engineer's cancellation terms in writing before work begins.
10.3 Loss of cancellation right. If you request the engineer to start work during the 14-day cooling-off period and the work is completed within that period, you will lose your right to cancel under the Regulations in respect of that work.
10.4 No obligation to accept any quote. Receiving quotes through Quoteboiler creates no obligation on your part. You are completely free to decline all quotes without incurring any charge from Quoteboiler.
10.5 Account closure. You may close your Quoteboiler account at any time by emailing privacy@quoteboiler.com. We will delete or anonymise your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, subject to any legal retention obligations. Account closure does not affect any existing contract you have entered into with an engineer.
11. Governing Law
11.1 These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
11.2 Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
